Booth 7A12, Pavillion 7 | March 6-10
Nora Fisch Gallery will present Yo Soy Esto, a solo booth devoted to the work of Alfredo Londaibere (Buenos Aires, 1955-2017). It is the first time that a large group of works by this key artist in the development of Buenos Aires’ contemporary art scene is exhibited in Europe. It will include works made between 1981 and 2015.
Londaibere was a central member of the group of artists that created and developed around the Centro Cultural Rojas in Buenos Aires in the late 1980s and during the 1990s. Not only did he embody the insubmissive spirit of this vernacular artistic moment but he also took on the role of director and curator of “el Rojas” between 1997 and 2002.
Londaibere was an introspective rebel, passionate about the history of painting and design, articulating his subjectivity as micro-politics through his stubborn faith in perception, intuition and enjoyment. In 2019, the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires dedicated a large anthological exhibition to his work.
