Pintura, Buenos Aires 2014
November 15th – December 30th, 2014
INFO
In Argentina, artists love to paint. Pictorial tradition is strong, and although other kind of local artistic practices —be them of a primordially conceptual nature, related to performance, media or relational situations— are thriving, painting continues to be investigated, maneuvered, pushed, reconsidered by emerging and mid-career artists, which undertake these explorations with a distinct commitment to the medium and contemporary urgency. This group exhibition, which inaugurates the gallery’s new space, aspires to be an inventory of some of these recent pictorial investigations which happen either within painterly language itself (Pierri, Becú, Gurfein, Bothlingk), by contaminating it with other materials and techniques (Scaffatti, Oller, Ignatti, Laguna), or by approaching it from outside of painting, from performative practices (Rosa Chancho, Marisa Rubio).
