Nora Fisch Gallery is pleased to participate in the 40th edition of ARCO Madrid, within the context of the special section Remitente. Latin American Art, curated by Mariano Mayer.
We present recent works by Fernanda Laguna —one of Argentina’s most influential artists— aimed at blurring categories such as the distinctions between art and handicraft, fine and poor materials, unified identity vis-à-vis multiple selves.
Laura Mema, an artist from the Northwest of Argentina currently living in Madrid, exhibits textile pieces featuring patterns hidden in nature, such as those generated by the sounds of local insects from her province, which she makes visible through the use of cymatics.
Fernanda Laguna is also participating in the exhibition Prelibros, currently on view at Casa de Americas, Madrid. Curated by Mariano Mayer, it centers on a selection of artists from Latin America who were first introduced in Europe through their presence in Opening, the emerging art section of ARCO Madrid, throughout the years.
