We are pleased to announce our participation in the fourth edition of Basel Social Club, featuring works by Gala Berger and Guzmán Paz.
Basel Social Club is a non-profit platform that resists convention and embraces experimentation. Held concurrently with Art Basel and the other fairs, it offers a space for social encounters and art-related experiences. This year, the event will take place in a former private bank in the heart of Grossbasel.
The gallery will present a large textile collage by Gala Berger (Villa Gesell, Argentina, 1983), exploring themes of sustainability and environmental protection. The work—infused with a touch of humor—depicts an activist community of fruit- and vegetable-headed characters, offering a playful yet pointed commentary on ecological concerns.
Guzmán Paz (Montevideo, Uruguay, 1988) will exhibit a series of intimate, small-scale works that blend painting with three-dimensional elements. Imbued with playfulness and fantasy, these miniature narratives possess a cinematic intensity. Rooted in meticulous craftsmanship and inspired by everyday materials and domestic settings, Paz’s creations emerge from the intersection of personal experience and imagination—inhabiting a world where domestic life, queer subjectivity, and party culture coexist.
