Concerning his participation in the 11th Berlin Biennial, curated by María Berríos, Renata Cervetto, Lisette Lagnado and Agustín Pérez Rubio, the curator and artist Javier Villa interviewed Osías during the quarantine in Berlin, where he currently resides invited by the Program DAAD for artists. His project, Ser con el otre, reopened to the public on May 28 and can be visited until July 25. Commissioned by the Biennale, this exhibition continues with the artist’s explorations of the different layouts of the body and the traces of its collective geographies.
Villa and Yanov are part of the Rosa Chancho collective, along with Mumi Colombo and Julieta García Vázquez. This conversation between the two is woven from a common code on ideas in relation to the power of the group, artistic processes, and some thoughts placed by the pandemic that resignify the present. “There is no other choice but to metabolize everything.” Read the interview in Artishock, a contemporary art magazine published from Chile.
