At the Lower Level gallery Juan Tessi presents recent works. In the context of his explorations about pictorial language, its capacity to stand-in for the body and desire, its explosion into space and into other materialities, Tessi now returns to self contained canvases which seek to constrain the expansive and interpretative potential of painting, and are deliberately imbued with the spirit of Mardsen Hartley, Arthur Dove and Milton Avery.
