Ohne Titel´s works intersect her private history with that of recent art. Accumulations of family snapshots, which are cut-up and layered, are placed on top of VIP invitations from museum and art galleries. The same operation which obsessively re-uses every scrap of her personal memorabilia in turn erases the specificity of the images, producing a tension between the individual and the generic, which poses questions about the import of each image in the context of a barrage of them. Events in the artworld are subjected to the same questioning; are they destined to the same ephemeral quality as the memory of a family picnic or a late night dinner with friends?

Florence Drake del Castillo is a French-Argentinean artist which chooses to exhibit under the name of Ohne Titel, playing with the same dichotomy between singularity and anonymity which is at play in her work. Born in Paris in 1976, she currently lives an works in Paris and Buenos Aires. She has participated in Los Carpinteros’ residency in Havanna, Cuba and La Curtiduría in oaxaca, Mexico. Her works have been exhibited in Museo del Barrio, NYC, Centro Cultural Recoleta, Buenos Aires and Xippas gallery, Uruguay among other venues.
