Paintings and Collages
July 7th – August 7th, 2015
INFO
Alfredo Londaibere (Buenos Aires, 1955) presents recent large format paintings as well as collages from a series he produced between the end of the 1990s and mid-2000s, which has not been exhibited as a group before.
Londaibere was central to the art scene which coalesced around Buenos Aires’ Centro Cultural Rojas during the 90s, a watershed moment for contemporary art in Argentina. His work has since developed in a path consistent with its origins, turning the reconsideration of pictorial languages of early modernism and decorative motifs into expression of alternative subjectivities; utilizing elements from surrounding urban visual culture; deliberately turning away from neo-conceptualism, all tactics common to most artists associated with el Rojas.
