Galería Nora Fisch is excited to present a solo booth devoted to the work of Juan Tessi in the upcoming online edition of Untitled, Art, the first art fair built on a VR/gaming platform, recreating the interior space of Untitled’s white tent on South Beach which visitors will be able to roam. Forty international galleries have been invited to participate.
Juan Tessi (1972) engages in an ongoing exploration of the language of painting, as he moves from one support, format and approach to another. The body and its drives are ever present, intersecting reflections on desire and the relation between painting and biological processes, as well as on craft and technology, absorbing stylistic references into his own very personal poetics grounded in pictorial processes. An essay on Tessi’s work by curator Javier Villa will be available, in this text he places Tessi in a lineage of historical Argentinean artists whose works undid the notion of culture as a unified, univocal voice, and refers to him as a “prophet of pictorial interspecies”, profoundly Latin American in his freedom to dive into hybridity.
