Falklands Crush Saga (The Shakespearean Equatorials)
November 20th – December 30th, 2015
INFO
Lux Lindner is an emblematic artist within the contemporary scene of Buenos Aires. He emerged in the ’90s, in the context of the Centro Cultural Rojas, a watershed moment in the development of art in Argentina. He has developed a multi-disciplinary practice which includes writing, theatre plays, painting and video, but above all his main mode of expression is drawing. His drawings are highly encoded with references that allude to social, political and historical circumstances as well as to literature, art and personal affairs. In this exhibition he layers allusions to Shakespearean characters, to the game Candy Crush and to the Falklands war which took place when he was a teenager, all tied up by a complex net of associations and connections which are characteristic of his thinking.
